According to Michèle Boccoz, the French ambassador to the Philippines, French businesses are still confident about investing in the Philippines despite significant economic challenges.

In a press conference on Monday, Boccoz stated that despite the uncontrolled variables happening globally that affect economies, the French business delegation’s presence here reflects the optimism of French investors in the Philippine economy.

“However, as you can see, a sizable number of businesses are arriving, which demonstrates confidence on their part in continuing to grow their businesses, particularly in the area. The Philippines’ prospects for economic growth are excellent. I believe that the Philippines is the Asean region’s and the world’s growth champion “She spoke.

Boccoz listed a number of industries where French companies are looking to make investments in the nation, including innovation, banking, energy, and the building and construction industries.

The French envoy continued by saying that the Philippine government is sending “a very good message” to foreign investors and increasing the attractiveness of the country for investments with the recent adoption of laws like the Public Service Act, Foreign Investment Act, and Retail Trade Liberalization Act amendments.

A corporate delegation from about 25 French enterprises, including the country’s largest employer organization, the Movement of the Enterprises of France, is now in Manila.
