Beneficiaries of the Bulacan agricultural reform receive e-titles from DAR.
Agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Bulacan received electronic land titles (e-titles) on Monday from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
The agency’s Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) program aims to expedite the land subdivision or parcelization of the approximately 1.368 million hectares of collective certificates of land ownership awarded (CCLOAs) across the country.
James Arsenio Ponce, the director of DAR Central Luzon, oversaw the distribution of 35 ARBs in the municipalities of San Rafael and San Ildefonso of the e-titles comprising 21.7750 hectares.
According to Ponce, the issuance of individual titles will give farmer-beneficiaries clear and complete ownership and control over the land parcels they are cultivating.
In a social media post, he stated that the move “strengthens the property rights of ARBs and encourages them to enhance their productivity and implement long-term improvements on their properties.”
The World Bank, a long-time partner of the department in rural development, is providing funding for DAR’s SPLIT initiative.
In order to guarantee the distribution of specific e-titles to SPLIT project recipients, Ponce continued, “World Bank is the DAR’s continuing partner.”
Additionally, he requested that the World Bank provide the project’s beneficiaries with increased and suitable support services, including processing facilities, farm equipment, loan access, and capacity-building initiatives.
In the Bulacan municipalities of San Rafael and San Ildefonso, a total of 17.0439 hectares of land were allocated to 13 ARBs in June.
