DAVAO CITY, Philippines – According to the city information office, the city government has launched…
Before the start of F2F classes on November 2nd, Davao City continues its vaccination campaign.
The weekend vaccination program at the People’s Park in Davao City has been extended through December of this year, and the Covid-19 Task Force has asked parents to vaccinate their children.
The task force spokesperson, Dr. Michelle Schlosser, emphasized the need of immunization in a radio interview on Monday, especially in light of the face-to-face (F2F) sessions starting in all public schools on November 2.
Schlosser advised the parents to vaccinate their kids to provide them with an additional layer of defense.
According to Schlosser, the weekend immunization in the park will continue to provide coverage for the whole city’s eligible population.
We have the People’s Park, and it will be there until December, so there is no reason why we can’t get immunized (on weekends), “She spoke.
She also commended the city health workers for giving up their weekends, which they could have spent with their families, as well as the Philippine National Red Cross-Davao City Chapter for cooperating with the local government on the vaccine campaign.
“They (the health professionals) sacrificed their weekends only to keep you and your families safe, “added Schlosser.
Schlosser also applauded Mayor Sebastian Duterte for his support of the weekend immunization rollout despite the fact that it would require additional resources and planning.
