Due to Paeng, 1.1M Meralco subscribers experience power interruptions.

Severe Tropical Storm Paeng caused power outages for both brief periods of time and long periods of time for 1,143,499 customers in the franchise regions of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco), according to a study released on Saturday.

According to a Viber message from Meralco, the number of impacted customers has decreased to 101,516 as of 11 a.m. Most of them are in portions of the provinces of Batangas and Quezon, with the remainder in Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, and Bulacan.

The distribution utility company noted that its personnel aims to restore power “as soon as possible” in the impacted areas.

Customers of Meralco can contact the company via its Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as by calling 0920-9716211 and 0917-5516211, to report power outages and other issues.

According to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’ Twitter account, transmission line tripping caused unplanned power outages on Saturday.

The provinces of Quezon, Batangas, and Pangasinan are among those that are affected.
