From October 24 to 28, 5K people in need would receive P40 million in medical assistance, according to the PCSO
For the period of October 24 to October 28, 2022, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has distributed more than PHP40.51 million in medical aid to a total of 5,269 qualified beneficiaries nationwide.
The state lottery department stated that the monies were distributed to beneficiaries through its Medical Access Program, citing the most recent data issued on Thursday (MAP).
The beneficiaries in Luzon include 745 poor people from the National Capital Region who received assistance worth PHP10.7 million, 1,623 poor people from Northern and Central Luzon who received assistance worth PHP11.8 million, and 1,540 poor people from the Southern Tagalog and Bicol Region who received assistance worth PHP9.4 million.
1,184 people in the Visayas received PHP7.2 million in medical assistance, while 177 people in Mindanao received PHP1.1 million.
The MAP, formerly known as the Individual Medical Assistance Program, is intended to supplement medical aid for impoverished Filipinos, especially for hospitalization, chemotherapy, dialysis, and post-transplant medications.
All around the country, PCSO game profits are used to support the program.
