Vietnam’s envoy and Zubiri talk about partnering in agriculture and tourism
Prior to a Vietnamese parliamentary delegation’s visit to the Philippines on Wednesday, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri met with Vietnamese Ambassador Hoang Huy Chung on Monday to discuss ways to further their strategic alliance.
President of the Vietnamese National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue will lead the legislative visit.
Zubiri said in a news release on Tuesday that he spoke with Hoang about how the Philippines and Vietnam have a strong desire to safeguard their respective sovereignties as two Southeast Asian nations with comparable colonial histories and present-day geopolitical conditions.
Zubiri praised Vietnam’s consistent economic progress, goals, and programs, as well as its long-term visions, and emphasized the need to “increase exchanges between our parliaments, and boost tourist and commercial prospects.”
“Vietnam’s investment program should be imitated. Zubiri informed the ambassador, “You have the best foreign direct investments in the region.
As more Vietnamese people travel after the pandemic, Hoang is aiming for increased tourist exchanges as well as agricultural partnerships in terms of trade, research, development, and technology.
He stated that the International Rice Research Institute at the University of the Philippines Los Baos, where Zubiri earned a degree in agribusiness, was the source of their agricultural practices for rice production.
Hoang added that Vietnam places a high importance on Filipino English teachers who aid in the language skills of its people.
Prior to this, the ambassador paid courtesy visits to Vice President and Secretary of Education Sara Duterte, Mayor of Manila Honey Lacuna, and Vice Mayor Yul Servo.
