As of November 22, the National Capital Region (NCRweekly )’s positivity rate—the proportion of people who tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19)—had risen to 9.2%.
Guido David, a fellow at the OCTA Research Group, stated on Twitter on Wednesday that the statistic represents an increase of 1.8 percent from 7.4 percent as of November 15.
If these tendencies continue, he warned, “we might be witnessing the beginning of another wave of infections in NCR, similar to what we witnessed in June.”
The total number of Covid-19 infections was 4,028,187 as of November 23 according to the Department of Health, with 17,049 active cases.
The nation as a whole has an optimism rate of 11.4 percent.
The NCR, with 167 more infections, Tarlac, 44, Cavite, 33, Cebu, 33, Iloilo, and 25 in Laguna are the regions with the newest Covid-19 cases.
Dr. Rontgene Solante, a specialist in infectious diseases, had earlier urged the populace not to get complacent about following the public health guidelines, such as using face masks, obtaining shots, and receiving booster doses, as community transmission is still present in the nation.
