DECODE 2022 by Trend Micro Calls on Industry to Detect & React

The premier cybersecurity firm Trend Micro will host DECODE 2022: Detect & Respond, its yearly cybersecurity conference, on November 28 and 29, 2022. Trend Micro will gather the top cybersecurity experts and professionals for a two-day virtual conference this year to talk about market trends, case studies, and security best practices.

Six keynote addresses will be given at DECODE 2022: Detect & Respond, along with more than 40 sessions spread across four main tracks. The most recent and pertinent security industry advancements will be covered, including deep fakes, fake news, scams, spam, IoT and key infrastructures, threat hunting, and incident response. Other topics covered include emerging threats and vulnerabilities.

The head of worldwide operations for Trend Micro, Jay Yaneza, will talk at DECODE 2022: Detect & Respond. He is one of Trend Micro’s directors and has years of expertise managing security operations centers (SOCs), developing managed services, and researching cyber threats.

This year’s DECODE, according to Yaneza, “shone a light on cybersecurity trends and seeks to provide IT departments with the essential expertise to detect, respond, and stay ahead of attacks, especially since the landscape continuously evolves.”

The majority of chief information officers (CIOs) today still rank cybersecurity as their top priority, and Yaneza continued, “With this conference, Trend Micro intends to continue to create a forum for awareness, learning, and insight-sharing, as we have done in previous years of DECODE.

Shane Cross, director of INTERPOL’s Cybercrime Threat Response Sub-Cybercrime Directorate’s Intelligence Unit and Cyber Fusion Center, will also be attending DECODE this year. To combat cybercrime on a global scale, Cross oversees a team of law enforcement officers and collaborates with cyber intelligence analysts and business partners. He discussed how cybercrimes have changed as a result of the worldwide pandemic at the DECODE conference last year. He also discussed how the cybercrime division works in collaboration with other governments.

Another returning speaker to the conference is Lauren Seawright, who is presently the FBI Intelligence Assistant Legal Attache (ALAT) attached to the US Embassy in the Philippines. Before joining the Joint Terrorism Task Force in Portland, Maine, Seawright worked as an intelligence analyst for the FBI’s Anchorage and Boston Divisions. The danger landscape and how it has changed recently on a local and international level were topics of her presentation last year.

The chief information security officers (CISOs) of Aboitiz Group and Globe Group Philippines, respectively, Charmaine Valmonte and Anton Bonifacio will also be speaking at DECODE 2022: Detect & Respond. With 32 years of experience in IT risk management, cybersecurity operations, and organizational resiliency, Valmonte served as UnionBank of the Philippines’ former vice president for IT risk management and resiliency. Contrarily, Bonifacio “created, grown, and continues to expand one of the largest captive cybersecurity and privacy teams in the country” and has more than 20 years of experience in the IT and cybersecurity sectors.

Ryan Flores, senior manager of Trend Micro’s APAC Forward-Looking Threat Research team, rounds out the impressive lineup of speakers. Flores has worked with Trend Micro for more than 20 years and has held a variety of positions there, including manager of the incident response team and antivirus engineer.

Trend Micro plans to create a memorable and illuminating experience for everyone at DECODE 2022: Detect & Respond in keeping with their aim of being “Engineered To Do Good.”

DECODE 2022: Detect & Respond registration is still open. For IT professionals and students who want to broaden their understanding of cybersecurity from a local to a global perspective, this two-day virtual conference is for you. Register at decodeph.com for nothing.
