Promote news that is “deserving of acclaim and imitation,” PBBM to media

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has urged the media to promote news items that are “worthy of admiration, emulation, and acknowledgment,” acknowledging the media’s critical role in promoting unity and progress.

According to a Facebook post from the Office of the President, Marcos made the call while receiving a courtesy call from representatives of Radio Mindanao Network (RMN), Inc. on Friday at Malacanang Palace in Manila.

The President reaffirmed his desire for a populace that is “empowered and well-informed” and complimented the RMN for its dedication to sharing both his message of unity and his administration’s intentions for improving the nation.

“The commitment to help and to spread our message to the public is a crucial one. Those of us who work in government view it as a crucial factor in determining whether or not we are successful, he said.

Marcos praised RMN, one of the biggest and most prominent radio networks in the nation, for being a “vibrant force” in Philippine media and praised the Canoy family and all local radio station administrators for their hard work.

As he acknowledged that his goals for the nation can only be realized via a “united effort by all Filipinos,” he also asked the media for assistance in boosting the message that his administration is trying to get across to the general public.

“And by that, I mean that we need to be sure that everyone is aware of what we are attempting to do, what they can do to assist, why, and the strategy we plan to use. And for us, that is what matters most,” added Marcos.

The correct message, he claimed, would encourage Filipinos to collaborate and work with the public and private sectors to further the country’s growth.

Thank you very much for all the years that RMN has worked to make things clearer, and easier to comprehend, and for supporting the government’s efforts to build a stronger economy, Marcos remarked.

In 1952, Cagayan de Oro City’s dxCC radio station had its official debut.

As of 2017, RMN had evolved from its modest origins in Cagayan de Oro to become the nation’s largest radio network, with 65 AM and FM radio stations broadcasting across the country.

Additionally, RMN makes its material available globally on a variety of digital channels.
