An eTravel platform was introduced on Monday by government organizations under the direction of the Bureau of Immigration (BI), which will enable quicker and simpler processing of travelers entering the nation.

The new system will take the place of the arrival cards, which were previously delivered to the Bureau upon arrival, according to Commissioner Norman Tansingco.

As of Monday, incoming travelers will no longer be required to submit paper-based arrival cards to the BI.

“The system will streamline each port’s data collection procedure. To simplify entry procedures, all forms would be combined onto a single platform rather than needing to be filled out separately for each agency, the BI head noted.

The system is a project of an inter-agency task force led by the BI and comprised of a sub-technical working group.

Along with the arrival card, the One Health Pass of the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) and the arrival form of the Bureau of Customs will also be replaced by the data from the platform (BOC).

It costs nothing to sign up for the eTravel platform.

Tansingco thought the project was a significant step toward ensuring interoperable systems amongst government departments.

“We are content and glad to have contributed to this success. This is the result of collaboration with several government entities with the goal of enhancing our offerings to the general people, he said.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology, the Department of Tourism, the Department of Health, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Justice are the other partner organizations in addition to BOQ and BOC.
