Conrado Estrella III, secretary of the Department of Agrarian Reform, will personally deliver land titles to the people of North Cotabato for the land they have been cultivating for years.

This upcoming Saturday, Estrella will hand out 3,524 certificates of landownership award (CLOAs) to the agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) of Kidapawan City, North Cotabato.

In Kidapawan City, 3,273 farmer-beneficiaries would receive 6,103 hectares of land.

In a statement released on Thursday, Estrella said, “I will personally distribute these land titles to offer them hope, to let them feel that the government is here ready to give them help and support.”

Estrella will also give a hauling vehicle worth PHP195,000 to farmer members of the Kisandal Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association while she is in Kidapawan.

The truck, which was donated by the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP), will benefit ARB members since it will lower the cost of transporting their produce to markets.

Estrella will also give indemnity checks of PHP815,666 to 108 ARBs from Alamada and 53 ARBs from Carmen municipality to assist farmers in recovering from natural catastrophes like rat infestation and floods.

The DAR and the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation are providing the compensation.

In Alamada, North Cotabato, Estrella will hand up 10 public lots in the barangays of Kitacubong, Mirasol, and Guiling to the local government.

The municipal government of Alamada may use the 13.7-hectare-sized lots to construct a government building, a municipal plaza, a cemetery, a health center, a public market, a barangay plaza, and a barangay hall.

The DAR’s administered landed estates acquired under Commonwealth Act 539, Republic Acts 1160, 1266, and 1400, as well as settlement programs and properties purchased under Executive Order 448, according to Estrella. These estates include public lots.
