The Philippine Army is still dedicated to stopping violence against women.

The Philippine Army (PA), which officially concluded its 18-day campaign against this social scourge on December 6, is committed to ending violence against women (VAW).

Maj. Adonis Bajao, the Army vice commander, said in a statement on Thursday, “May our participation, not only in this campaign but also in our lifelong commitment to fight the pervasive effects of VAW, serve as a reminder for us to always uphold our ethical duties as professional and disciplined servant-soldiers in the organization.

The PA’s Office of the Army Gender and Development enabled its 18-day campaign against VAW (OAGAD).

At the PA’s headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila, there were closing rituals.

Additionally, Bajao thanked the Army soldiers and resource speakers for their active participation in the campaign.

As things progressed, the PA held the 25th Inspector General Service Seminar 2022 on December 6 and 7, under the Office of the Inspector General (IG).

The activity was held at the Philippine Army Intelligence Center of Excellence (PAICOE) in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, according to army spokesman Col. Xerxes Trinidad.

The speaker and guest of honor, Maj. Gen. Jose Eriel M. Niembra of the PA emphasized the importance of the IG’s position as the shining example of excellent service.

Maj. Gen. Niembra also urged Inspector General Service (IGS) units in PA Major Units (PAMU) to employ all novel suggestions for improvement and to work to set an example for other soldiers, according to Trinidad.

35 people from various IG units participated in the IGS Seminar.

The 2023 Annual General Inspection’s inspection criteria and rating methodology were covered in the lecture (AGI). Through cooperative conversations that addressed the concerns and difficulties raised by stakeholders in response to the frequent and consistent AGI results, it explored initiatives on empowering the IG units.

The event also supported Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR) projects related to the IGS.
