Filipino surfing’s fourth leg saw Siargao and La Union bets excel.



The Pilipinas Surfing Nationals Leg 4 concluded on Saturday at Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, and featured four professional surfers from Siargao Island in the province of Surigao del Norte who won their divisions.
Toby Espejon won the Junior Boys’ Shortboard Division, John Mark Tokong won the Men’s Shortboard Division, and Aping Agudo won the Women’s Open Longboard Division, repeating their victories from Leg 3 held in Borongan City, Eastern Samar, last month.
In the meantime, Dianne Nogalo won the Women’s Shortboard competition.
Kaila Jane Dela Torre in the Junior Girls’ Shortboard and Luke Landrigan in the Master Men’s categories, both from La Union, were the other champions.
The Philippine Olympic Committee and Philippine Sports Commission have approved the competition organized by the United Philippine Surfing Association.
