The Department of Health (DOH) announced on Wednesday that travelers who are not completely immunized or who failed to confirm their immunization status must provide a certified negative antigen test result while entering the Philippines.

The DOH instructed reporters via Viber that the antigen test needed to be completed no later than 24 hours prior to the date and time of the passenger’s arrival in the Philippines.

Individuals must be at least 15 years old to use this.

The government warned that failing to comply could force the traveler to submit to the test when they arrive at the airport.

Using the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases Resolution No. 2 series of 2022 as a guide, the DOH stated that visitors arriving in the Philippines must provide one of the following documents to demonstrate that they have received the necessary vaccinations:

International Certificate of Vaccination from the World Health Organization

VaxCertPH

National or state-level manual or digital immunization certificate issued by the nation or another country
Additional vaccine evidence

is that foreign travelers only need to abide by the rules of the country they are going to.
The local governments’ vaccination cards, Maria Rosario Vergeire, the DOH official in charge, said on Tuesday that they might be used in place of the immunization certificate (vax cert).

In order to prevent disruption for Filipino travelers, the DOH approved this.

Filipino travelers who travel abroad can verify their vaccination status with their vax certificate.
