Security measures at Cebu Airport are relaxed during the holiday surge.
The Mactan-Cebu International Airport will no longer require passengers departing for domestic flights to go through the first security screening during the busy Christmas holiday period.
The screening of both carry-on and checked bags will take place following the check-in procedure and at the final security screening before the passengers move on to the boarding gates, according to Mary Ann Dimayabao, MCIA public affairs office manager.
She stated that in order to check in and board a flight, passengers must still produce a valid form of identification as well as their ticket or boarding pass before entering the terminal.
According to Dimayabao, “We are relaxing the limitations to ensure the comfort and convenience of the passengers.”
She stated that several airports around the nation are adhering to the same security precautions as advised by the Office for Transport Security (OTS).
The Tuesday-starting dry-run went without a hitch.
She claimed that since 2018, international departures at MCIA’s Terminal 2 had likewise followed the same basic processes.
According to her, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority, OTS, and the private airport management business GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC) are committed to providing passengers and other stakeholders with a positive airport experience.
