The weather bureau predicted rain for many regions of the nation on Monday.

There are no low-pressure areas (LPAs) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, according to forecaster Obet Badrina of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Nevertheless, he added, “the trough or extension of an LPA someplace in Indonesia would bring showers over various areas of the country, especially in the Visayas and Mindanao.”

Due to the shear line and the trough of LPA, PAGASA predicted that scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will predominate across the province of Romblon, the Bicol Region, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

The northeast monsoon will also bring rain to the provinces of Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Palawan, Aurora, and Quezon.

PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rainfall could cause landslides or flash floods in certain areas.

Over the remainder of Luzon, light showers will be caused by the northeast monsoon.

Over Luzon and the Visayas, however, there will be moderate to severe winds and moderate to rough waves.

The northern, eastern, and western seaboards of Northern Luzon, the eastern seaboard of Central Luzon, the seaboards of Southern Luzon, the western and eastern seaboards of the Visayas, and the eastern shore of Mindanao are likely to see rough to very rough seas.

In addition to warning bigger sea vessels against high waves, PAGASA cautioned fishing boats and another small seacraft not to enter the water.

There will be light to moderate winds and modest to moderate seas across Mindanao.
