26 farmers from South Cotabato are anticipated to become agricultural entrepreneurs after graduating from the Farm Business School run by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) (FBS).

The FBS program is in line with the position taken by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III to improve the standard of living for farmers. It is a hands-on educational system that assists farmers in learning and developing their knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship and farm business management.

Lenny Belle Gumboc, an FBS graduate, stated in her welcome address that the program transformed her outlook on farming and motivated her to put all of her academic knowledge to use.

Another graduate, Gerona Famular, claimed that the FBS had aided her in tracking records to enhance her farming and business operations.

In a news release on Sunday, she stated, “We are all dedicated to using all we have learned because we believe that it will help our farms become more successful.”

To show their sincere appreciation for the project, the FBS graduates from Barangay Rizal 3, Banga town, displayed a variety of vegetables, fruits, and poultry goods during the graduation ceremony, including upo, melon, sayote, sitao, pipino, watermelon, and chicken eggs.

The Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Training Institute, the municipality of Banga, the provincial government of South Cotabato, and the Office of the House of Representatives – 2nd Congressional District collaborated to conduct the FBS.

Assuring the farmers of ongoing government support, Pinky Ponte, OIC- Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer I, thanked the graduates for completing the program and urged them to be more excited about their farming.
