PAGASA predicts fair weather with sporadic rain showers throughout the Philippines
Most of the nation will have sunny skies with a few scattered rain showers, according to a state forecaster.
Meno Mendoza, a weather expert with the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), said the southwest monsoon, or habagat, that is hitting Luzon would strike portions of the island and the Visayas.
The southwest monsoon will bring overcast skies, sporadic rain showers, and thunderstorms to Region 4-A (Mimaropa), Zambales, Bataan, and Western Visayas, he added.
“Fair weather will prevail in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, with rain showers expected to linger just a few hours. The temperature in Metro Manila may reach 33 degrees Celsius “Mendoza continued.
The remainder of the Visayas will have mostly sunny skies with a few rain showers.
On the other side, the weather in Mindanao will be pleasant and humid. Rain showers are also anticipated as a result of isolated thunderstorms, according to Mendoza.
On Sunday night, the low pressure region that PAGASA was monitoring left the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Over Northern and Central Luzon, moderate to high winds and moderate to severe waves were expected.
Winds will be light to moderate elsewhere, with minor to moderate waves, according to PAGASA.
