The Misamis Occidental floods and landslides that were caused by torrential rains over the Christmas holiday have been addressed by the humanitarian arm of the Archdiocese of Manila on Wednesday.

In a social media post, Caritas Manila requested donations to help hundreds of families devastated by the natural disaster with relief and restoration efforts.

“You’re voluntarily contributing to our fundraising effort will go a long way toward assisting towns and people in regaining their lives after the flooding’s damage. Ready-to-eat food, water, hygiene kits, and medical kits are their top priorities right now, it stated.

Through the contribution channels listed below or at https://www.caritasmanila.org.ph/online-cash-donation/, you can share your blessings. Dial 8562 0020 to 25 local 118, 139, 135, or 0917.595.5083 if you have any additional questions, the Caritas Manila added.

The nearby churches of the Archdiocese of Ozamis have already reacted.

According to Caritas Manila, “the impacted parishes have provided shelter for people whose homes have been damaged or washed out by the flood and have also welcomed evacuees from high-risk areas.”

Through their Parish Social Action, food packages, hygiene kits, clothing, and other necessities were distributed to the victims.

Prior to this, Ozamiz Archbishop Martin Jumoad pleaded with the faithful for prayers and aid for the flood victims.

Misamis Occidental saw at least seven fatalities and 16,200 displaced people as a result of floods and landslides brought on by the shear line’s strong rainfall in Northern Mindanao.
