PH airport operations are again “back to normal,” according to CAAP.

Following the technical problems with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines’ (CAAP) air traffic control system last Sunday, an official stated on Tuesday that operations in airports all throughout the nation are back to normal.

“The country’s operations are already returned to normal as of right now. I believe that they said that everyone was in a state of panic and that their group was covering their tracks with their communication and radar. (The operation is now back to normal across the entire nation. This indicates that everything is in functioning order and that radar and communication cover the Philippine airspace “Edgardo Diaz, CAAP’s deputy director general, said during a press conference.

The system malfunction, which CAAP attributed to the power supply, left thousands of travelers stuck last Sunday and caused hundreds of flights to be delayed, canceled, or diverted. Due to the bug, thousands of travelers were still inconvenienced on Monday.

The CAAP’s Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) system, according to Diaz, needs to be upgraded but is not entirely out of date.

“The actor’s performance was magnificent. Power is not being generated at all in the area where you are, thus the operation is being bumagsak. (CNS/ATM system is still functionally sound. Due to a power loss, operations were halted “explained he.

The official continued by saying that he believes CAAP has a sufficient backup because there are two UPSs. He added that CAAP routinely inspects the machinery.

He added that CAAP is working closely with other government agencies to help them prevent a repeat of the tragedy.

In order to determine what has to be addressed, Diaz said CAAP is still evaluating the system and working with engineers and technical experts.

“There isn’t a complete evaluation of what exactly is failing and what is being nailed down, unfortunately. We don’t yet have a complete analysis of what caused the system breakdown, but an inquiry is now being conducted. We are looking into that right now) “Added Diaz.

He added that the incident did not jeopardize the security of the passengers or the aircraft.

Diaz added that the CAAP had given the airport managers instructions to help the airlines and passengers recover flight operations. He said that coordination with the airlines is also being done to lessen the load on travelers.
