Report: Over 17K employees will be let go by Amazon.

According to a report released on Wednesday, American e-commerce giant Amazon would let go of more than 17,000 workers.

According to The Wall Street Journal, which also cited sources familiar with the situation, the company’s corporate levels are the main target of the layoffs.

The Seattle-based corporation said in November that it will start laying off members of its corporate personnel.

According to the article, the changes were mostly made to its device business, hiring, and retail operations.

The corporation reportedly employed 1.5 million employees as of September, with a sizable portion of them working in its warehouses, according to the Journal.
