President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s state visit to China was praised as “very successful” by Speaker Martin Romualdez “which resulted in numerous fruitful interactions between Manila and Beijing.

Romualdez claimed that in an environment of equality and respect, President Marcos was able to personally communicate to President Xi Jinping the problems of the Filipino people, particularly fisheries and maritime claim difficulties.

And that’s why this state visit was so successful, Romualdez said in an interview after arriving back in the nation on Thursday afternoon. “We could see the connection, the personal conversations between the two presidents.”

He said that both heads of state’s honesty “would go a long way in addressing all these difficulties.” “.

Therefore, Romualdez stated, “This undoubtedly means a lot to our relations with the People’s Republic of China.”

He claimed that the state visit’s numerous engagements at all levels, including President Marcos’ meetings with Premier Li Kequiang, President Xi, and Chairman Li Zhanshu of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, all contributed to its success.

“These personal contacts mean a lot,” Romualdez said. “The face-to-face meetings lend themselves to not just a better rapport but also better confidence and more knowledge of the intricacies with the relations.”

The House leader claimed to have received a directive from the President to communicate with their counterparts in the Chinese parliament in order to improve coordination, understanding, and cooperation.

Romualdez also mentioned Xi and First Lady Peng Liyuan’s invitation from President Marcos to visit the Philippines.

They appeared to enjoy each other’s company, and their respective first ladies, First Lady Xi Peng and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos got along well. “And from the looks of it, I think that might be forthcoming. Right away, you could tell there was chemistry,” Romualdez said.
