Comelec broadens the scope of “Register Anywhere”

The Register Anywhere Project (RAP), which is being hosted in a few malls in Metro Manila, the Bicol Region, and Central Visayas, is now more widely covered by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Residents of the city or district where the RAP sites are situated, foreign voters moving to the Philippines, senior citizens, and people with disabilities who are new registrants or who will update their records can all now submit applications.
All necessary application forms are freely available at RAP locations or online at www.comelec.gov.ph.
In the meantime, starting on Saturday, the RAP site in SM Southmall in Las Pias City has been moved to SM Sucat in Paranaque City.
RAP will take registrations every weekend from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. till Jan. 20 and 21.
There is currently no mention of extending the registration period, which is open until January 31 in Comelec offices worldwide.
The Sangguniang Kabataan (for voters at least 15 years old but not more than 30 years on election day) and barangay (village) polls on October 30 would be open to around 1.5 to 2 million new voters, according to the Comelec.
