Through its “safe alert app,” NCRPO improves its anti-crime response.

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) introduced an app on Monday to enable a quicker and more efficient method of reporting any crime.

The S.A.F.E NCRPO APP Alert smartphone application, according to NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, can be utilized with a finger touch to instantly convey an alert to the closest police officers patrolling in their area of authority.

The NCRPO’s Tactical Operation Centers (TOCs) will keep an eye on the app’s connection to an alert server.

He claimed that the app does not require an internet connection because, in the absence of a mobile network signal, alerts will be transmitted via SMS.

All barangay halls in Metro Manila have been active and registered as part of the project’s initial phase, according to Lt. Col. Mark Foncardas, project manager for the NCRPO App Alert.

Meanwhile, the second phase of the project will include other facilities like schools, hospitals, places of worship, and amusement centers.

“Now that we’ve reached the final stage, let’s talk about the individual homes. We can offer it for download during that last stage. To prevent practical jokes or malicious notifications, this is essential, said Foncardas.

The staff of the Eastern and Quezon City Police District also participated in a real-time simulation exercise that demonstrated the effectiveness and efficiency of the app.

The project, according to Estomo, is in line with the PNP’s KASIMBAYANAN programs and the NCRPO S.A.F.E Program, which will provide a dedicated police alert hotline for all churches, mosques, and other similar institutions as well as barangay halls within Metro Manila for immediate police assistance for the protection of the religious sector and of the general community through the barangays.

The usage of the app, according to Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr., would enable the NCRPO to increase its reaction, particularly in light of the fact that criminals are now utilizing technology.

“This app, picture giving each barangay, if there is a crime to be recorded, there will be a response right away in Metro Manila, in three minutes.” I’m hopeful that the moment will come when we can effectively distribute this, and I’ll suggest that we do it throughout the entire Philippines, not just Metro Manila, to ensure that the influence is felt right down to the last root.

The best elements of the system will be discussed by Abalos and the other PNP regional directors.

“For now, this is simply the NCRPO. The entire PNP needs to make use of it (soon). He said, “We will attach it to the 911 (emergency hotline).”
