In Eastern Visayas, DSWD reports 365K poor families.

Of the 848,662 total households surveyed in Eastern Visayas, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) regional office in this area has identified 365,086 poor households.

The third phase of “Listahanan,” or household assessment, which began in 2019 was responsible for finding and identifying qualified recipients of the government’s program to alleviate poverty, according to a statement from the DSWD regional office on Monday.

A database of low-income households is created by the Listahanan information management system in order to identify potential recipients of various social protection programs and services offered across the country.

The DSWD field office is already formally open to data-sharing partnerships to give stakeholders access to the database in Eastern Visayas with the release of the most recent results of the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction.

The most recent resource for data users in locating possible recipients of their social protection programs and services is the Listahanan 3 database.

To get the most recent poverty database for the area, implementers and creators of social protection programs and services are urged to submit an email to nhts.fo8@dswd.gov.ph or stop by the National Household Targeting Section of the DSWD field office at the Government Center in Palo, Leyte.

The Data Privacy Act of 2012 requires that the DSWD and the entity making the request enter into a memorandum of agreement before any information in the database can be shared, in order to guarantee that the data would be protected.

In order to comply with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s order to purge the list of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries, the DSWD regional office accelerated the validation procedure.

According to Republic Act 11310, also known as “An Act institutionalizing Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program” or “4Ps,” which was signed on April 17, 2019, the government’s approach to reducing poverty is known as the “4Ps”.
