On a chartered flight that stalled on the runway of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Tuesday, all seven passengers and two crew members were reportedly unharmed.
A King Air aircraft stalled on Runway 13/31 around 10:05 in the morning and was removed at around 10:43. No other flights were impacted. The runway reopened at 10:48 a.m., according to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).
The airplane was headed for Catarman in the Samar province when the mishap occurred, the MIAA told the Philippine News Agency.
According to its spokesperson Eric Apolonio, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is presently looking into the incident.
The MIAA medical team, Rescue and Firefighting Division, Airport Grounds Operation and Safety Division (AGOSD), and airport security all responded to offer assistance.
According to MIAA, there were additional investigators from the CAAP’s Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board.
Prior to reopening the runway, the AGOSD carried out clearing operations and searched for any potential debris.
