From January 16 to January 22, there was a 35% drop in the nation’s daily average of new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), according to the Department of Health (DOH).

The DOH indicated in its most recent case bulletin that 417 illnesses from January 9 to 15 to 270 cases in the most recent week.

1,891 additional cases and 104 verified deaths were also reported by the DOH.

Seven of the extra fatalities occurred between January 9 and January 22, 2023.

More than 4.07 million coronavirus cases and more than 65,694 fatalities have been reported in the nation thus far.

Four cases were added to the list of severe and critical infections during the same week, which also saw a decrease from the previous week’s 567 instances to 432 cases.

Only 370 of the 2,299 intensive care unit (ICU) beds are in use, or 16.1%, whereas 3,509 of the 18,410 non-ICU beds are in use or 19.1%.

As of Jan. 22, 73,820,001 people, or 94.52 percent of the target population for the nation (78,100,578), have received the Covid-19 vaccine, including 79.46 percent of 8,721,357 seniors.

Out of the population that has received all of the recommended vaccinations, 21,293,632 people have received booster doses.
