BACOLOD CITY, PHILIPPINES – The city government here has welcomed the continuation of the coronavirus…

Free WiFi is available in the Gov’t Center grounds in Bacolod City.

The Bacolod City Government Center grounds now have free Wi-Fi connectivity for the general public, the city government declared on Wednesday.
A user has access to a daily one-hour connectivity subscription for one device.
Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez stated, “This is the idea of the city government.”
He noted that the former city hall and the Bacolod Public Plaza will soon offer free Wi-Fi connectivity as well.
Anyone can log in to the “MABB Wi-Fi” at the Government Center using their smartphones or laptop computers.
The free connection, which is provided by GNET Network and Data Solutions, a systems operator, “aims to help users conduct online communication, quick and chill-time surfing, and emergency connections while touring the Government Center grounds,” according to the city government. Six access points have been installed there.
Users can use the free Wi-Fi again the next day if the subscription restriction of one hour has been achieved.
The “Wireless Connectivity Ordinance of Bacolod,” or City Ordinance No. 09-16-788, was approved on September 28, 2016, and it establishes a secure and accessible wireless internet connection in specific city offices and public areas.
In particular, the fountain area on the grounds of the Government Center, the Fountain of Justice at the former City Hall, Bacolod Public Plaza, the Bacolod Arts, Youth, and Sports Center, the Bacolod City Public Library, and all public high school libraries are among them.
The whole Government Center structure, the grounds of the City Health Office, the Bacolod City Police Office, and the Hall of Justice are all designated as government offices in the ordinance.
