Guidelines for the administration of the bivalent vaccines against coronavirus illness are being finalized by the Department of Health (DOH) in 2019. (Covid-19).

The organization promised the public that it would release the appropriate instructions in time for the implementation of the vaccinations’ nationwide deployment in a Viber message to reporters on Thursday.

The DOH stated that “currently, various allocation mechanisms and tactics are being investigated, taking into account acceptability, equity, and operational efficiency in using the vaccine.”

The bivalent Covid-19 vaccines, according to the US Food and Drug Administration, contain both a component of the omicron variant and a component of the original virus strain to offer comprehensive protection against Covid-19.

The COVAX Facility, a global program aiming at ensuring equitable access to Covid-19 vaccines, has agreed to provide the DOH with an initial donation of approximately 1 million doses of bivalent Covid-19 Pfizer vaccines.

Before the end of March, the gift is anticipated to arrive in the nation.

According to the guidelines established by the COVAX Facility for the first batch of donated vaccines, the COVAX Facility will prioritize the A1 (healthcare workers), A2 (senior citizens), and A3 (those with comorbidities) groups.

Prioritization may be extended to additional priority categories whenever additional dosages are obtained and made accessible, according to the DOH.
