The Mactan-Cebu International Airport will no longer require passengers departing for domestic flights to go…

Airport screeners are being investigated for security violations.

An official said on Monday that several screeners at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), as well as their supervisors, are under investigation for a security breach.
Several members of a boy band that performed a three-day concert tour in the nation over the weekend were body frisked in a video released on social media.
The screening officer appeared to be filming the group in the video as well when they were going through security.
“According to our policy, filming is not permitted inside security checks. There may have been a security breach here “Ma. O Aplasca, the administrator of the Office for Transportation Security (OTS), spoke with the Philippine News Agency.
He claimed that based on the video clip, they could already infer some irregularities and mistakes made by both the person conducting the screening and the supervisors who let it occur.
The supervisors’ failure to address the errors and file the necessary incident report, according to Aplasca, made the problem worse.
Aplasca stated that the OTS only permits this in specific circumstances, such as when there is a lack of staff, with regard to the female who conducted the body frisking on male passengers.
“Male-to-male and female-to-female screening is mandated by our procedure. In some circumstances, female screeners are permitted to interview male passengers, although this primarily applies to provincial airports with a dearth of staff “explained he.
Due to the increased deployment of screening employees at the NAIA, this may not be relevant there. The female employee is now under investigation as a result, according to Aplasca.
Unauthorized filming is not permitted at airport security checkpoints, the OTS informed the public in a statement.
