Two players who won the top prizes in two recent Lotto draws will use their riches to launch a small business and pay for their kids’ college.

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced on Friday that a former migrant worker from Makati City won PHP73 million in the Mega Lotto 6/45 draw on February 1 that produced the winning numbers 37-29-42-21-27-05.

La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, is the home of the other winner.

“Iyong bet slip that I inserted was a shadow,” (That bet slip I use has a shade; those are my regular numbers; I no longer alter them.) Tuwing tataya ako sa Lotto iyon ng iyon ang binibigay ko sa teller tapos itatago ko uli sa wallet para kinabukasan kasi tataya ako uli, para hindi na r I always give the teller that when I make a Lotto wager and then I retain it in my wallet again for the following day because I will make another wager. So that I won’t have to struggle with shading again the next day),” he remarked.

He responded, “Hindi ko po maintindihan ang nararamdaman ko sa ngayon masaya pero kinakabahan ako, when asked what he was thinking at the time. Pasalamat ako sa Diyos sa biyayang ito, sa PCSO sana ay patuloy na makatulong sa mga nangangailangan at kung may pagkakataon lamang po ako na sabihin sa buong Pilipinas na tutuo po ang Lotto at tutuong may I give thanks to God for this blessing, I hope that PCSO will continue to assist those in need, and if only I could convince everyone in the Philippines that someone will win the lottery.

A 57-year-old single parent from Lipa City, Batangas, eventually collected half of the PHP5.9 million jackpot prize of the 6/42 Lotto jackpot, which was drawn on November 8, 2022, at the PCSO main office. Her good fortune came from the winning combination on 09-06-29-07-05-19.

She stated, “I am a single parent and I want to utilize this award for both the building of my house and the education of my children. Isa akong solitary parent at plano kong gamitin ang premyong ito.

She claimed that the dates and ages of her family members’ births were her lucky numbers.

She has also played the lotto for 20 years, and she is appreciative of PCSO for the charity and hopes that it offers the public money raised from its many games.

Both of the victors urged people to keep attending PCSO games.

On the PCSO Official Website, PCSO Facebook Page, and PCSO GOV Channel on YouTube, you may view lottery results as well as other information about the PCSO games, products, and services.

According to Republic Act No. 1169, winners have one year from the drawing date to collect their prizes in order to avoid forfeiting their earnings.

All lottery jackpot awards must be picked up at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City, which is located along Shaw Boulevard.

Winners must write their names and signatures on the reverse of the winning ticket, show two forms of government-issued identification, and claim their winnings.

The general public is also reminded that, in accordance with the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law, rewards above PHP10,000 are subject to a 20% tax.

To raise more money for health initiatives, medical support and services, and charitable organizations, the PCSO is pleading with the public to play its games.

The PCSO distributes money to government organizations in addition to assisting those who require medical aid through its mandated payments.
