PBBM is optimistic about strengthening ties with Japanese business partners

On Friday, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. voiced confidence that his administration will see continued success in the Philippines’ business relationships with Japan.

At a high-profile luncheon and networking event held in Tokyo by a leading Japanese business organization, Marcos made the remark.

Marcos praised Japan’s “unique” economic environment in a keynote speech, pointing out the strong potential for a range of sectors including manufacturing, building, real estate, retail, food service, commerce, telecommunications, aviation, recruiting, mining, and agribusiness.

Indeed, he remarked, “There is much to be praised about Japan’s distinctive business environment where networks of independent manufacturers, supply chain partners, distributors, and financiers work effectively and harmoniously to assure the success of the entire.

Marcos applauded the outcome of the business matching event organized by the department, which resulted in over 255 meetings between Filipino and Japanese business executives, citing the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) report.

This is because Marcos stated that on his five-day official visit to Japan, he was joined by 114 businessmen from the Philippines who were “equally diverse.”

According to Marcos, the business group from the Philippines went to Tokyo to take advantage of chances that would help their companies expand.

“Along with making new business connections, our delegates are also on hand to observe, learn, and take action on the available opportunities and fresh information. I hope that the synergies we create now with our Japanese partners will develop further “added Marcos.

Marcos wished for Tokyo and Manila to establish a “life-long relationship” as a result of collaborations with Japanese businessmen and investors.

He expressed the hope that these alliances would go beyond business and trade and instead develop into lasting friendships that would advance and encourage the strengthening of connections between Japan and the Philippines.

The high-powered luncheon and networking event offers the Philippines a chance to create new business relationships as well as fresh knowledge and prospects for advancing the nation’s collaboration with Japan’s corporate sector.

The representatives and executives of Mitsubishi Corporation, Marubeni Corporation, the Japan-Philippines Economic Cooperation Committee, and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) were present.
