A 16% increase in new Covid-19 infections each day on average

From February 6 to February 12, the average number of new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) across the nation rose by 9%, according to data released on Monday by the Department of Health (DOH).

According to the most current DOH case bulletin, daily infections rose from 145 from January 30 to February 5 to 157 in the most recent week.

The DOH also disclosed 98 verified deaths and 1,101 additional cases.

Six of the extra fatalities happened between January 30 and February 12.

More than 4.07 million coronavirus cases and more than 65,949 fatalities have been reported in the nation thus far.

The number of severe and critical infections increased from 388 to 426 within the same week without any new cases being added.

Only 311 of the 2,243 beds in the intensive care unit (ICU) are being used, or 13.9%, whereas 3,402 of the 17,344 non-ICU beds are being used, or 19.6%.

As of February 12, 73,860,103 people, or 94.57 percent of the country’s target population (78,100,578), have received a Covid-19 vaccination, including 79.47 percent of 8,721,357 seniors.

Out of the population who has received all of the recommended vaccinations, 21,450,894 people have received booster doses.
