In honor of heart month, the “KaHEARTner Campaign” will formally debut on February 21 at the Saint Louis Colleges Auditorium with the slogan “Move More! Eat Well!” The goal of the campaign is to increase public support for the cause of boosting cardiovascular health and wellness.
According to Sydiongco, a balanced diet should be combined with at least 20 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per week.
We must move our bodies, she continued, because the heart is a muscle that requires regular exercise to stay strong and free from disease.
She also urged everyone to exercise, keep their weight at a healthy level, abstain from vices, and learn how to handle stress.
Since Proclamation 1096 was signed on January 9, 1973, which aims to raise awareness of heart disease as a serious and expanding health concern among Filipinos, February has been designated as Philippine Heart Month.
