Solon wants a thorough audit of the Covid-19 vaccinations.

On Monday, Senator Francis Escudero demanded a thorough investigation into the cost of the coronavirus illness vaccine for 2019 (Covid-19), arguing that the public has a right to know about any pandemic-era vaccine purchases.
Escudero said it was impossible to calculate the actual amount paid and he questioned whether the so-called “non-disclosure agreement” (NDA) the government had with vaccine producers before the sale might be used as a pretext to conceal procurement information.
The Covid-19 Vaccination Program Act of 2021, which requires the disclosure of the approved budget of the contract and the amount of contract granted on vaccine purchases, is violated by Section 6 (the transparency clause), according to him.
Unfortunately, a lot of vaccines have expired. The obligation to divulge the specifics of the billions spent on them, however, never expires, according to Escudero. “The immunizations do not confer a defense against responsibility.”
The NDA, in his opinion, is a “new type of an excuse” for avoiding responsibility.
As a result, the Bicolano senator requested that the Department of Health (DOH) and other agencies comply with the Commission on Audit’s (COA) subpoena for information.
It was stated that by the end of 2022, 44 million of the 245 million doses of Covid-19 vaccinations that the government had purchased or received for free had expired.
“Hanggang ngayon, walang price list na lumabas kung magkano ang Sinovac, ang Moderna, ang Pfizer at iba pa (Until now, there have been no price lists for Sinovac, Moderna, Pfizer, and other vaccines), and yet we fine small grocery stores for failing to follow the price tag rule,” the statement reads. There is a multa for the tindahan where the sardinas presyo is not nailed down. Shops that don’t have price tags for sardines were punished, but no action was taken in the case of vaccines, according to Escudero.
