The Abu Dhabi World Summit emphasizes the roles and challenges of women.

This week, the capital of the United Arab Emirates will play host to the worldwide conference “Global Women Summit 2023,” which will highlight the contribution of female leadership to fostering social cohesion, world peace, and economic growth.

More than 100 countries’ worth of researchers, businesswomen, religious leaders, entrepreneurs, social activists, cultural figures, and public figures will be represented at the conference on February 21 and 22 at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort.

In order to develop bridges of peace, inclusiveness, and prosperity, speakers and participants will discuss the problems experienced by women, such as gender discrimination, domestic violence, and political disadvantages.

The General Women’s Union (GWU) head, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, is the patron of the Global Women Summit 2023, which is coordinated by the World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC).

Her Highness Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, president, and chief executive officer of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators, will give the summit’s opening address after Sheikha Fatima has given the welcome comments.

The other subjects up for discussion on the first day are philanthropy, foreign relations, and education.

“Women of all races, beliefs, and cultures should come together to face the difficulties and provide their expertise for peace-building, economic recovery, and social inclusion as we approach a new period of uncertainty as a result of the worldwide pandemic, geopolitical tensions, and economic depression. According to the event stated, “The role of women leaders, as proved during earlier crises, should be honored and supported for the advancement of humanity.

The TWMCC’s chair, Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, asserted that women are playing an increasing role in fostering social integration, advancing peace, and establishing a more prosperous future.

In a previous statement, Al Nuaimi said, “This summit comes at a time when there is an urgent need for a global platform that supports dialogue, unites efforts and views, and finds solutions for common challenges, such as the gender gap, domestic violence, social and economic marginalization, and providing further opportunities for women to lead in society.”

The global summit’s hosting, according to GWU secretary general Noura Al Suwaidi, highlights the UAE leadership’s vision, which acknowledges empowering and supporting women as a top priority.

According to Al Suwaidi, the summit “constitutes a global moral commitment to adopting new, more inclusive strategies and solutions to deal with obstacles that impede the progress of women, and enhance their crucial role in fostering sustainable development and promoting peace and security worldwide.”
