As of January of this year, about 1.8 million inhabitants of Central Luzon have their ePhilIDs, the electronic printable form of the Philippine Identification System ID, also known as the national ID.

According to a statement released on Monday by the Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services 3 (PSA-RSSO3), registered individuals received a total of 1,771,572 ePhilIDs last month, exceeding by 7.3 percent the region’s objective of 1,651,500 for the first quarter.

The PSA provincial offices registration team’s combined efforts and methods, including house-to-house inspections and collaboration with schools, private institutions, and local government bodies, according to Arlene Divino, regional director of the PSA-RSSO3, led to this accomplishment.

She gave the registrants her word that both public and governmental institutions will accept the ePhilID.

Divino, meanwhile, urged other locals to sign up with PhilSys, pointing out that doing so would help the government provide services more effectively.

We urge everyone to sign up since holding a national ID will be recognized as legal identification for both public and private transactions. The PSA is still committed to giving and giving all registrants their PhilID cards, she said.

In 2022, PhilSys Step 3 through Modes 1 and 2 was introduced by the PhilSys Registry Office (PRO).

When a transaction reference number (TRN) is presented to the registration team, mode 1 refers to the issuing of ePhilIDs.

Contrarily, Mode 2 refers to ePhilIDs produced by the PRO for printing and delivery of the registration team to the address provided by the registrant.

In September and October 2022, the PSA RSSO 3 began implementing Mode 1, and in November 2022, Mode 2.

Republic Act 11055, also known as the Philippine Identity System Act, was signed into law by President Rodrigo Duterte in August 2018. It aims to create a single national ID for all Filipinos and resident immigrants.
