The public-private partnership (PPP) initiative of the Marcos administration has received support from the Makati Business Club (MBC) because it will promote the long-term economic growth of the nation.

The National Economic and Development Authority’s (NEDA) push for PPP projects, according to MBC chair Edgar Chua, will be crucial in creating the nation’s necessary infrastructure, he said in a statement on Friday.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will be presented with a list of the most important infrastructure projects, NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan revealed on Thursday.

According to Balisacan, the list contains 3,700 high-priority infrastructure projects valued at PHP15 trillion.

On March 9, the Chief Executive must decide whether to approve these initiatives.

Chua stated that “His (Balisacan’s) adjustments revive the allure of PPPs.”

Chua also expressed MBC’s support for the law’s Build-Operate-Transfer amendment.

In a recent discussion with the business community, Balisacan stated that in order to sustain the vast infrastructure development in the nation, private sector finance must be tapped.
