Asian attendees are returning in large numbers to Mobile World Congress.

Asian attendees made a significant comeback at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023, which got underway Monday in Barcelona, according to the event’s organizer.
A little more than 5,000 people from China have registered to attend the event, which is projected to draw 80,000 visitors from more than 200 nations and regions. This is because China earlier this year loosened its travel restrictions.
The 2023 MWC, runs through Thursday and features more than 2,000 exhibitors showcasing their most recent goods to highlight the newest technological advancements in the mobile sector. The Fira Gran Via exhibition hall will host the event.
This time, Chinese manufacturers including Honor, Xiaomi, and OnePlus will introduce a number of new smartphones, including foldable and quick-charging models, alongside Nokia. The Huawei stand was over 50% larger than it was the previous year.
The Velocity-themed event this year will feature five major seminars on 5G acceleration, Reality+, OpenNet, Finance, and Digital Everything, according to the organizer.
Visitors can also see the newest surgical robots, artificial intelligence, a capsule train that can levitate over rails and travel at a top speed of 1,200 km/h, and other futuristic technology.
After the pandemic-related cancellation of the event, there have been two MWCs held offline. It is anticipated that more people will attend than in 2022, but fewer than the record-breaking 109,000 attendees in 2019.
