The DepEd stated in a Facebook post that it backs programs for women.

The statement read, “During National Women’s Month, the Education department supports the upholding of women’s rights through initiatives and activities,” in part. “Ngayong National Women’s Month, kaisa ang Kagawaran ng Edukasyon sa pagsisiguro na ang karapatan ng kababaihan ay mapahahalagahan,” it added.

In her remarks Wednesday at the “Gamhanang Buwak: Flower Power” art exhibit of the Floral Artists of Davao Association, Inc., the DepEd emphasized the importance of encouraging women in education.

Duterte added, “As women, we can work together to transcend divides and give great encouragement to others to be more engaged in constructing a society that is inclusive, supporting, and continually yearns for a more humanitarian expression.

During the ceremony, the Vice President also asked the musicians to empower other women as role models for society.

She remarked, “May this occasion enhance our unity as women who uplift other women and as artists who use art to illuminate women’s innate capacities for nation-building, especially in our environmental protection and conservation efforts and in eliminating violence against women and girls.

Under the theme “WE (Women and Everyone) for gender equality and an inclusive society,” the DepEd engages in this year’s observance of Women’s Month.

The department stated that it will work very hard to promote gender equality.
