PCSO promises further initiatives for the well-being of women.
On Monday, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) committed to strengthening the initiatives it runs to support women’s welfare.
“The programs that the PCSO supports in order to carry out the Kababaihan are Makakaasa, in my opinion. You can depend on PCSO to continue supporting initiatives for women’s wellbeing. Kaugnay nito, patuloy rin nating pinag-aaralan kung ano ba ang magagawa pa para makapag-ambag sa pagsisikap para sa mas inklusibong lipunan. In this regard, we also keep researching what can be done to support efforts to create a society that is more inclusive “According to a statement made in honor of National Women’s Month in March by PCSO chairperson Junie Cua.
Cua remarked that the PCSO has been furthering this issue in the past with programs that seek to reintegrate women into society, particularly those who are abuse victims, through empowerment initiatives like livelihood training and counseling.
According to Cua, this was mostly accomplished through the agency’s Institutional Partnership Program (IPP), which offers funding and assistance to several welfare organizations and nonprofit hospitals across the country.
Additionally, he claimed that 62 other institutions received assistance from the PCSO totaling PHP28.3 million.
Cua added that the PCSO is looking into methods to tailor the assistance it provides as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program to meet the needs of women and children who are affected by disasters.
“Namin pinag-aaralan kung paano kailangan ng mga bata at mga kababaihan at mga relief packs at iba pang assistance na binibigay natin sa mga apektado ng kalamidad. Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is supported by the paraan in order to map out the needs of the affiliating group of citizens. We are researching ways to make the relief supplies and other aid we give to those affected by the disaster more sensitive to the needs of women and children. The President of the Philippines, Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., supports initiatives to better the lives of his citizens “stated Cua.
Cua noted that the PCSO will also host events to honor women during the entire month.
