According to the Provincial Health Office’s Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PHO-PESU) report on Tuesday, every case of hand, foot, and mouth disease reported in the province of Iloilo’s 40 local government units (LGUs) has recovered.
According to Provincial Health Officer Rodney Labis, all 2,407 HFMD cases from January 1 to February 25 have been classified as recovered as of today.
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, the Department of Health, the Department of Education, and other stakeholders are partners with the PHO in the illness prevention and control program, he claimed.
He continued, “Our intervention is primarily focused on health prevention to raise community knowledge of prevention and early identification so it will be appropriately handled and effective disease surveillance for prompt and appropriate reaction by our health offices.
Only the towns of Dingle, Carles, and Guimbal had no HFMD cases, according to data from the PESU.
Nonetheless, Sta. Barbara, Alimodian, Leon, Calinog, and Badiangan had the highest number of instances.
