Farmers in Pampanga will get their own land titles.
As the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) works out the distribution of roughly 310 hectares of unused government-owned lands, farmers in the province of Pampanga will soon receive their own land titles (GOL).
DAR Central Luzon Regional Director Arsenio James Ponce stated in a press release on Wednesday that they would start surveying the properties of the Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) in Magalang town in order to grant individual land titles to qualified agrarian reform beneficiaries right away (ARBs).
For a smooth and quick distribution of the land, he claimed that a recent conversation with the farmers of San Agustin town had taken place.
“Natin hinihingi ang buong kooperasyon ng mga ARB at kanilang mga opinyon upang mabilis na ma-survey ang lupain. We seek the ARBs’ complete cooperation and desire their ideas on how we might survey the land more quickly. Pag-aaralan natin ang resulta ng napag-usapan upang ilalapat ang pinakamahusay na hakbang upang maipatupad ang prosesong ito ng mas mabilis. We will evaluate the outcome of this meeting and use the best strategies to quickly implement this process),” he said.
According to Ponce, the vacant land owned by the PSAU would give many farmers a living, reducing rural poverty and boosting the nation’s food security at the same time.
Conrado Estrella III, secretary of DAR, previously stated that the land distribution complies with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s order to provide farmers with agricultural lands to improve their economic circumstances.
Executive Order No. 75 Series of 2019 “mandating all government offices to distribute public lands dedicated to or appropriate for agriculture for distribution to qualified beneficiaries” will be utilized to implement the distribution of unused agricultural lands.***
