LRT-2 stops running on Holy Thursday and doesn’t resume until Easter Sunday.

The Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will operate on a reduced schedule on Holy Wednesday and cease operations on Good Friday (April 6) until Easter Sunday (April 9).
According to a news release from the LRT-2, both lines headed for Recto and Antipolo City will only operate on a limited timetable on April 5 from up to 7 p.m.
The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) joins the Catholic Church in honoring this most holy week of the year, which is piously honored every year.
The four-day closure, according to LRTA Administrator Hernando Cabrera, will provide LRTA adequate time to do extensive maintenance on LRT-2 trains, station infrastructure, and equipment to guarantee the system’s dependability and safety.
“Usually, we take advantage of Holy Week to carry out annual upkeep tasks. With this, we ask the riding public to plan their journey and use alternate transportation during this time in order to get their cooperation and understanding “added Cabrera.
Following Easter Week, the LRT-2, which connects Recto and Antipolo, will resume regular service on April 10 with excursions beginning at 5 a.m.
