Due to LPA and “amihan,” Mindanao and Luzon are expected to get rain.

A low-pressure area (LPA) and the northeast monsoon, also known as “amihan,” will continue to bring rain to Mindanao and Luzon, according to the meteorological service on Tuesday.

The LPA was last tracked 340 kilometers southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, or 320 kilometers east southeast of Davao City, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), which predicted scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mindanao at 4 a.m.

On the other hand, Amihan will bring rain to the Aurora province, the Cordillera region, and the Cagayan Valley.

Moderate to occasionally strong rains can cause landslides and flash floods in certain places.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will get light rain as a result of Amihan.

Isolated rain showers will occur in the Visayas as a result of localized thunderstorms, and PAGASA warns that severe thunderstorms may result in landslides or flash floods.

Across Luzon, the eastern Visayas, and Mindanao, there will continue to be moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough waves.

The northern and western coasts of Northern Luzon are expected to see rough to extremely rough seas. It is cautioned against launching fishing boats and another small seacraft, and larger seacrafts are warned against strong waves.

According to PAGASA, winds will be light to moderately strong with modest to moderate seas elsewhere.
