OVP: Peace and livelihood initiatives to support tourist recovery

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has emphasized the necessity of bolstering peace and livelihood programs to aid in the Negros Occidental province’s tourism industry’s recovery.

At Kabankalan City’s 116th founding anniversary and Tourism Recovery Restart, Vice President Sara Duterte made the proclamation.

The OVP claimed that Duterte instructed the Kabankalan City officials to take advantage of its livelihood and peace projects in a statement on Tuesday night.

If there is any way we may assist you in launching your tourism recovery program, kindly let us know. We are prepared to offer support right here in your community, she added, adding, “Andam mi nakuha tag og suporta sa inyong siyudad.

According to Duterte, this includes financial aid, notably for female employees or LGBTQAI+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, asexual, intersex) community members.

Magnegosyo ‘Ta Day! (MTD) was introduced on March 8 in San Pedro, Laguna province, according to Duterte.

The MTD was modeled after a neighborhood initiative she worked on while serving as mayor of Davao City.

According to the OVP, MTD entitles eligible beneficiaries to a grant of PHP 20,000 capital.

Recipients must also complete a basic business management course before they may work with livestock, sari-sari shops, goat distribution, local chicken processing, or mini-meat.

Moreover, the OVP noted the local government unit can also employ the office’s peace initiative.

Because we have the budget and the funding to support you in your peace projects, you can also access Peace 911 here, according to Duterte.

She also used Davao City as an illustration, demonstrating how Peace 911 was applied there to quell the rebellion.

According to Duterte, a region’s vibrant tourism depends on having a sufficient means of subsistence and tranquility.

With tourism serving as the primary pillar of your economic growth, this will present Kabankalan with excellent chances, she predicted.

The Marcos administration views the tourist industry as essential to boosting the economy of the nation since it aims to elevate the Philippines’ standing not just in Southeast Asia but also in international tourism.
