On Friday, another 2,867 individuals were declared free of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the country’s total recovery count to 1,305,608 people.

In its monthly Covid-19 report, the Department of Health (DOH) said that recoveries account for 94.3 percent of the total 1,385,053 infections since the epidemic began last year.

There were also 6,812 new cases and 116 new fatalities recorded. With these additions, the total number of active cases is now 55,293 and the death toll is 24,152.

90.8 percent of active cases are mild, 4.6 percent are asymptomatic, 1.9 percent are severe, 1.35 percent are moderate, and 1.3 percent are in critical condition, according to the latest statistics.

“A total of 19 duplicate cases were eliminated from the overall case count, with 12 of these being recoveries. Furthermore, following final confirmation, 61 instances previously labeled as recovered were reclassified as deaths,” the report said.

On June 23, statistics from the Department of Health revealed that 11.6 percent of 51,005 people tested positive for Covid-19.

On June 23, all labs were operational and ready to send their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).

Currently, 57 percent of the 3,400 critical care unit beds, 46 percent of the 19,300 isolation beds, 44 percent of the 12,300 ward beds, and 36 percent of the 2,800 ventilators designated to Covid-19 patients are in use throughout the country.

Meanwhile, in the National Capital Region, 42 percent of 1,200 critical care unit beds, 40 percent of 4,800 isolation beds, 33 percent of 3,500 ward beds, and 30 percent of 1,000 ventilators are devoted to patients with Covid-19.

Those who are suffering Covid-19 symptoms should separate themselves and call the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams, according to the Department of Health.
