The “Isle be There” rebranding theme was unveiled by the Camiguin province administration on Friday in an effort to welcome tourists after the coronavirus disease 2019 epidemic.

The new tourist motto, according to governor Xavier Jesus Romualdo, is a component of the province’s transformation and development ambitions, and its success depends on collaboration between localities and businesses.

During the opening program, Romualdo stated, “We are also aiming for digitalization, to have ‘Smart Tourism’ where visitors can enjoy the island (with ease)”.

The governor claimed that by using technology, guests may receive enough of assistance and security throughout their stay in the island province.

According to the governor, the province has welcomed 800,000 tourists since January and anticipates welcoming a million by 2025.

Also, Romualdo disclosed the PHP250 million Mantigue Island Tourist Plan, which aims to upgrade the infrastructure for waste management, docking, and mooring, water, and power, visitor services and amenities, safety and security, and emergency response.

The relaxation of limitations on visitors who have not had the Covid-19 vaccination is another notable aspect of Camiguin’s tourism marketing.

The island is now open to unvaccinated visitors who can show proof of a recent negative Covid-19 test from a clinic or testing facility certified by the Department of Health.

Children under the age of 11 who are not immunized are no longer required to submit test results.
