Low-cost carrier expands its Cebu hub
At Mactan-Cebu International Airport, low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) will expand operations to and from the province of Cebu with new routes, more frequent flights to some locations, and a larger fleet (MCIA).
According to CEB on Monday, these increases should lead to an additional 76,000 seats per month.
Starting on June 23, daily direct flights to Taipei will be available, expanding CEB’s total foreign network via Cebu to five.
Prior to this, it stated that flights to Narita, Japan, and Hong Kong will resume on March 26 and May 1, respectively.
On March 26, daily flights to Naga will start.
“Cebu Pacific is pleased to have its biggest outlying base in one of Asia’s top airports. To link more tourists with some of the best beaches and islands in the world, we are thrilled to further develop our Cebu hub, said CEB Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer Candice Iyog in a statement.
11 of the 23 domestic destinations served by CEB via Cebu will have increased frequency starting on March 26 and on May 5.
These cities include General Santos City, Surigao, Clark, Puerto Princesa, Butuan, Caticlan, Bacolod, Siargao, Dumaguete, and Legazpi.
To accommodate the growth, two more planes will be located at the MCIA, bringing the total fleet at the Cebu hub up to 13.
The airline, which is commemorating its 27th anniversary this month, is offering discounted tickets for a limited number of domestic and foreign destinations from March 20 to 23.
On March 8, 1996, CEB made its inaugural flight from Manila to Cebu.
