Concerns about the city experiencing a resurgence of the coronavirus illness 2019 (COVID-19) have been allayed by the local Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Illness (IATF-EID).

However, with Covid-19 still, a constant threat, Mayor John Dalipe, chairperson of the local IATF-EID, emphasized the necessity for residents to protect themselves, their families, and their community.

Dalipe stated, “We should maintain proper hygiene and sanitation to be protected from Covid-19 and other infections.

Dalipe called the regional IATF-EID together on Thursday afternoon to examine the situation in light of an increase in Covid-19 cases nationwide.

The council, according to Dalipe, agreed that vaccination and booster shots should be continued, especially for people with impaired immune systems, since this is the most effective way to avert fatalities and serious disease-related illnesses.

Eight confirmed Covid-19 cases have been reported here since January of this year, according to the City Health Office (CHO).

The CHO report also revealed that all nine of the patients of Covid-19 are immunocompromised or have damaged immune systems and are either unvaccinated or have not received booster shots.
